Jonatan llman Olander
Title: Global Sales Manager (EMEA, Asia and Oceania)
Office Location: Stockholm, Sweden

What do you do at  Waboba and when did you start?
I manage our global sales and global distribution network. I joined the team 5 years ago, back in 2018.

What do you love most about working with customers on a global scale?
I love getting to meet people with different cultures from all over the world.

We know your job requires some travel, what’s the best part about traveling for work?
When I'm working, I get to explore and see some fantastic places. Of course, trying the local food from every corner of world is one of the best parts as well.

What's your favorite Waboba product?
There are so many... but I have to say our newest game: Battlebird

Do you play Waboba in the office? What games?
We play a lot of Voli in the hallway and of course of Hitman.

Send us a picture of your desk! What are some must-haves for your work station?

Headphones, a cup of coffee, and note books.

What’s your favorite song to listen to when you work?
It has to be Queen – We Are The Champions, maybe because I tend to win most of the games we are playing!

What did you do before you landed at Waboba?
I was on the other side of the business – in retail, more specifically in a sporting goods store.

What’s one fun thing that’s different about working at  Waboba  than other places you’ve worked?
The culture ! We have an amazing culture which I have never experienced anywhere else.

What's your favorite Waboba memory?
I have a lot of fantastic memories so far, but think I have to say the first Speilwarenmesse I went to in 2019 where I got to meet with all our customers and people from the industry.

As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Oh, that changed from day to day. One day it was a professional ice hockey player, the next it was an architect, and then a pilot.

What’s your secret talent no one knows about?
I am a pretty good cook.

Speaking of secret talents, we heard you’re quite the night owl, even after long conference days, how do you have so much energy?
It's all a mental game...and lots of coffee!

If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
It would be to be able to fly.

Tell us something about you that most people don’t know.
I am a terrible loser. I can´t stand losing.

At  Waboba, we always aim to #keeplifefun. How do you stay a big kid at heart?
I try to always focus on the fun parts. The more fun I can have, the better.

If you could tell your 12-year-old self something, what would it be?
You can have ice cream for dinner.

What’s your favorite way to play and stay active?
I do quite a lot – running, biking, playing golf, padel, tennis and so on... but I´d say my favorite way is out in the nature with my dog.

What’s a quote or song lyric you live by?
Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger

When did you grow up and what was the best part about that time period?
I grew up in the 00´s. We spent a whole lot more time outdoors back then compared to now which was really nice. Snow ball fights in the winter, biking and playing football till the sunset in the summer – those are very good memories I have from that time period.

What was the first concert you ever attended?
I believe the first one I ever attended was to see Europe (Swedish rock band). What a cliche being from Sweden and Europe.

Where on earth are you hoping to travel next?
I have a trip to Germany booked, but I can´t wait going to Australia.

Would you rather walk on water or walk on the moon?
I would rather walk on water. I have heard it is quite difficult going to the moon.

What would be your last dying meal?
It would be some juicy wagyu beef over an open grill.

What is one thing you cannot live without?
Coffee – wouldn´t survive a day  without  it.

Where is your favorite place you've traveled to so far?
This is a tough one, there have been so many amazing places – but think I have to say Tokyo.

What’s something on your bucket list you hope to check off?
I want to climb Mount Everest.
